GM2210403 Dapol Class 153 Sprinter DMU number 153 377 ScotRail

GM2210403 Dapol Class 153 Sprinter DMU number 153 377 in ScotRail Active Travel livery.
The British Rail Class 153 Super Sprinters are single-coach railcars converted from two-coach Class 155 diesel multiple units in the early 1990s. The class was intended for service on rural branch lines where passenger numbers do not justify longer trains, or to boost the capacity on trains with high passenger volume.
ScotRail converted several carriages to support active travel in the Highlands. They had their internal configuration amended to allow a total of 20 individual bike racks with space for tandem bikes and charging ports for e-bikes, with the remaining space containing designated seating for 24 people, initially running on the West Highland Line from Glasgow to Oban.
Scottish artist Peter McDermott has designed the eye-catching livery that reflects the wonders of the highlands, including the famous highland cows, while also promoting the use of bicycles in and around Scotland, tying in with this new service.
