TT4088 Hornby Mk2F Brake Standard Open BSO Coach - 9539 - Virgin

Featuring coach number ‘9539’ and NEM couplings, this coach pairs perfectly with other Virgin Mk2F coaches to form a realistic rake as seen on the West Coast services from the mid-1990s to early 2000s.

History

The lesser produced MK2F coach was the necessary brake van, the BSO (Brake Second Open), which as well as the guards and luggage compartment included seating for Second Class passengers. Finished in the striking ‘Virgin’ livery as used on 100mph West Coast Main Line expresses.

Combining standard class seating with a brake compartment, typically used at the rear or front of a rake for guard duties and luggage storage.
